The 2019 Geneva Motor Show is nearing. Different manufacturing brands have already released teasers of their upcoming vehicles that will be featured at the event. Tesla, Audi, Kia and now Nissan. In the upcoming 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Nissan will be featuring the new crossover namely the IMQ. It indicates the style for the future models of the Japanese brand. The company's SUV stable also includes the Qashqai 3.

The upcoming vehicle feature will be joining the Nissan Leaf 3.Zero e+. This is the promise of Nissan to debut at Geneva. This vehicle will feature a 63kWh battery and a more powerful motor that has a 160kW, offering a 385km range. The concept of IMQ is being billed as the precursor to an all-electric Qashqai.

Thus, waiting for a third generation Nissan Qashqai may not yet be released. Nissan also mentioned small details regarding the concept at their press release. The company said "Join Nissan at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show for the reveal of the IMQ concept crossover, an all-new vehicle that embodies the future of Nissan Intelligent Mobility and gives a sneak peek as to what might be in your future driveway," according to The Driven.

However, consumers did not expect that the IMQ concept bears little resemblance to the other recent IM-badged Nissan concepts. The featured vehicle looks closest to the IMx concept that has been revealed at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. It positioned itself as a sort of Leaf-like electric SUV. As it was teased form the image that has been released by Nissan, it appears has a slimmer waistline and more rugged and dynamic, also has high and very shallow windows, according to RoadShow.

Coming from the IM which is the nickname of Nissan's attempt into the future of Intelligent Mobility, the name links to the previous concepts. It follows the IMx and IMs. Thus, it has been speculated that no doubt the IMQ will also be electric and autonomous.

The IMx has been reported to offer a 600km driving range. It is more likely that the Japanese car manufacturer wants to exceed or meet this in the IMQ. However, Nissan does not reveal any detailed specs about the IMQ at this time. Aside from the matter that it gives a teaser of all-electric SUVs that the company may offer in the future.
