On My Block Season 2 is coming to Netflix this month, but the streaming service has yet to announce the exact release date. As fans are hoping it will be out soon, they are also wondering what will be its next plot. As the previous season ended with a major cliffhanger, involving Ruby (Jason Genao) and Olivia (Ronni Hawk), the new installment may pick-up where it left off.
Cesar (Diego Tinoco) tried to kill Latrelle (Jahking Guillory), who shot Ruby and Olivia while the latter attended her Quinceañera, but he failed. Ruby took the bullet for Olivia, but it entered her body when it exited from his. Hence, they were both left bleeding on the ground as they waited for the ambulance, which On My Block Season 2 might continue.
Ruby and Olivia's fates remained up in the air. Ruby didn't even look good and might not make it on On My Block Season 2. "If we don't get another season, then I think you know the answer: everyone's dead," co-creator Lauren Iungerich told TV Guide about everyone's future before Netflix renewed the show. But since the series would continue, there might be a good star waiting for Ruby.
Talking about what would happen to the guy who shot them on On My Block Season 2; Iungerich said he would be "disciplined." "Oscar (Julio Macias) loves his brother, but he can't let his brother get away with bucking orders," she said.
Another plot that needs to get explored on On My Block Season 2 is the Rollerworld fortune that Jamal (Brett Gray) worked hard for in the previous season. It is a big question of what would happen to all that cash that he had in the finale, per PopBuzz.
Meanwhile, Netflix also has yet to reveal who will return on On My Block Season 2. Ronni Hawk, who plays the role of Olivia, only like multiple posts on Twitter about the series' return, but it remains a mystery if she will be on the show.
Also, a Redditor noticed, via Inverse, Genao's absence from On My Block Season 2's filming. In a Snapchat post by Tinoco, he was on the set for the show's production with Gray, but Genao seemed to be MIA. In another snap, Tinoco could be heard saying; "Jason if you're watching this, we miss you bud, hopefully, I'll see you."
Does this mean Genao will not be on On My Block Season 2 and Ruby doesn't survive the shot? Another Redditor explained the cast are under strict rules not to show their selves on the set as it will potentially spoil the next season's premiere about who survives the incident.
Netflix has yet to announce On My Block Season 2's official release date, thus the show is now surrounded by theories. Some fans believe it will be out either on March 22 or March 16, a year after season 1 premiered.
