Despite the controversies, Netflix announced the coming of 13 Reasons Why Season 3. The next installment is surrounded by a lot of theories now that it goes beyond Jay Asher's standalone novel. There are also questions if Katherine Langford will return as Hannah Baker.

In his appearance at the Netflix FYC panel, showrunner Brian Yorkey confirmed they still have more stories to tell on 13 Reasons Why Season 3. "What happened to Hannah will always be the first clause of the story," he said, via Inverse.

13 Reasons Why will also tackle the stories about young people as many of them know how "to heal" themselves from the things that hurt them. They also know how to make the world the way they want it to be and "how to take care of each other."

The previous season ended with a lot of loose ends that fans are expecting to get tied on 13 Reasons Why Season 3. Viewers want to know if Justine (Brandon Flynn) will turn into a drug addict and if the story of Monty (Timothy Granaderos) and his abusive father will get explored. Also, they want to see what will happen to Tyler (Devin Druid) and the rest of the Liberty High now that Hannah's story has ended.

Talking about Hannah, Langford confirmed in an Instagram post that she would not be part of 13 Reasons Why Season 3. "Hannah...I love you...and I let you go.' Those are the words I was able to say six months ago," she said. "And now can finally share with you as my journey has officially come to an end." To recall, Hannah already received the justice she was looking for when her trial officially reached a verdict in the previous season.

Aside from Hannah, other major casts of the show may return on 13 Reasons Why Season 3, per The Cheat Sheet. Fans may once again see Clay (Dylan Minnette), Tony (Christian Navarro), Justin, and Jessica (Alisha Boe) make a comeback.

Netflix has yet to announce the official release date of 13 Reasons Why Season 3. But, fans expected it to return in the middle of 2019 with another 13 episodes. The streaming service announced its return three weeks after the previous season's launch. So, as Season 1 was out at the end of March and Season 2 premiered in May, Season 3 might get a Spring release. Fans should only take these assumptions with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed yet.
