Chinese telecommunications company Huawei has released a brand new teaser for the upcoming Huawei P30 smartphone, one that emphasizes what the "P" in P30 stands for -- "photography."
The teaser, officially released via Huawei's Facebook page, was directed to a French-speaking audience. Translated (via Pocket-Lint), the caption at the top of the post would say "Make things closer and brighter. The new #P30Series will be here on 26 March." It's very self-explanatory.
While the teaser didn't show anything except a variety of ways to present "P," "3" and "0" over and over, the part where it says "P for Photography" actually says a lot. This new phone is believed to feature a camera that's way better than most phone cameras available today.
Huawei Global Product Marketing Vice President Clement Wong said (via Android Central) that the P30 will feature a periscope-style zoom camera that gives the phone "super-zoom" capabilities. It is widely rumored that the P30 will have 10X zoom, but it's still unknown at the moment.
What's known is the phone can be expected to have better zoom capabilities than its predecessors, particularly the P20 Pro which boasts of 3X optical and 5X hybrid zoom. If these numbers are any indication, photographers will have a new toy to play with once Huawei releases the P30.
Wong said Huawei is looking to build on the P20 Pro's camera features, particularly its low-light capabilities. That said, the P30, being a next-generation smartphone, can be expected to offer better performance in low lighting conditions, even way better than what its predecessor can do.
Not much is known about the P30 except its camera capabilities. Pocket-lint, however, notes that the P30 can be expected to be similar to the Mate 20 Pro, which has been considered as one of the best smartphones currently available in the market today.
The P30 and P30 Pro will feature the same hardware and software platform as the Mate 20 Pro. If the Mate 20 Pro is any indication, the P30 will be a great smartphone.
And with Wong saying Huawei is retaining "all the good stuff" from previous models, the P30 can also be expected to feature the same ultra-wide camera capabilities that the Mate 20 Pro has.
While these announcements and teasers raise the hype regarding the Chinese giant's upcoming flagship, it would be best to wait for the phone to be released before making any conclusions.
