The scene starts with workers are trying to clear the entrance of the hospital due to the thick layers of snow as it started blocking the way. Dr. Max, on the other hand, stares outside and he looks very worried. Then, he informed his staff that people couldn't go to them due to the bad weather condition, so they'll "bring the hospital" to them instead. However, Dr. Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) isn't happy with the idea because she's worried something might happen to Dr. Max while trying to rescue people.
But indeed, they've found several people trapped in the blizzard and need some sorts of medical emergencies. At one point, Dr. Floyd Reynolds (Jocko Sims) digs up a man buried in the thick snow who seems to be unconscious, and he's likely suffering from hypothermia. Unfortunately, for Dr. Max, his health might be in danger as well in New Amsterdam episode 16. While he was walking with Dr. Sharpe looking for people who need help, he suddenly felt weak, so he sat on the sidewalk. The situation could be potentially dangerous for him as it can be noted he has cancer.
