Into the Badlands season 3 might be the final run, but the show is not going away on television with a whimper. Fans of the series will be in for more epic fight scenes, which its creator said took 120 days of filming.

Speaking with IndieWireco-creator Al Gough shared with pride that the last eight episodes of Into the Badlands season 3, which will begin its run on Sunday, March 24, will have more action scenes than ever before. It may even surpass the previous wars and battles they've done on the show.

"It was 16 episodes and the fight team shot for like, I want to say, 120 days," Gough said. "They shot 40 fights for 16 episodes over nine months."

The cast members of Into the Badlands season 3 echoed the excitement of Gough. Lewis Tan (Gaius) told TV Guide that he couldn't wait for viewers to watch the upcoming installment. He's pretty sure that they did fight choreographies that have never been done on TV. Executive producer Miles Millar said that the final battles are some of the biggest for the series.

The martial arts drama series wrapped up filming many months ago when AMC confirmed that it wouldn't be given a renewal. Deadline, however, reported that the cancellation was hardly a surprise decision because the cast members were released from their contracts after the competition of the third season's filming.

Meanwhile, epic action scenes aside, viewers may also anticipate good storytelling in the final episodes of Into the Badlands season 3. In the mid-season finale, which aired last fall, Sunny (played by Daniel Wu) decided to save Henry by giving Pilgrim (played By Babou Ceesay) the Gift. That decision resulted in grave consequences for everyone involved.

The Widow (Emily Beecham), on the other hand, will have to come to terms with who she wants to become after so many heartbreaks and despair. Hopefully, she will arrive at a better place by the end of the series.

While the writers made sure to conclude the plots in each of the storylines of Into the Badlands season 3 properly, Gough said that they still left some loose ends. Some doors will remain open for a potential follow-up.

The show might not even end the way fans will expect. The story, while concluding on television, could still go on as an animated series, a graphic novel or a comic book, the co-creator revealed.
