The question on whether Roman Reigns would be seeing action at Wrestlemania 35 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on April 7 may have finally been answered. After a hellacious Mar. 18 edition of WWE Raw, Drew McIntyre called out the Big Dog and challenged him to fight at the annual spectacle.
McIntyre, who has been taking aim at members of the Shield, initially offered himself as Brock Lesnar’s opponent at Wrestlemania 35. That was until he got clocked by Seth Rollins, a skirmish that would be settled later on in the show.
For the Scottish Psychopath, taking out Rollins would have given him that chance to challenge Lesnar and his WWE Universal title. Unfortunately, the Kingslayer would not go easily and almost finished off McIntyre.
That was until Lesnar’s music played just before Rollins was about to finish McIntyre with his Stomp finisher. The distraction was enough to hand the Career Killer a win, WWE.com said. After dispatching two members of the Shield, McIntyre wants to complete his feat as he now diverts his attention on Roman Reigns.
After that edition of WWE Raw, there are now two key matches worth looking forward to at Wrestlemania 35. These are the Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins Universal title match and the Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns card.
As far as the Lesnar vs. Rollins clash, it hardly comes as a surprise. Rollins has long been rumored of getting the push and Lesnar has been mentioned as possibly moving out of Raw and into WWE Smackdown. That move of the Beast Incarnate was covered in detail in a previous post.
On the other hand, McIntyre calling out Reigns should put all questions to rest on the health and when the Big Dog will spring back to action. The timing couldn’t have been better with the former WWE champion to (likely) officially announce his return to the squared circle at the promotion’s annual spectacle.
While he has proven he can mix it up with the other members of the Hounds of Justice, Reigns is different. His conditioning is suspect although some already caught a glimpse of that when he announced his battle with Leukemia was in recession last month, WWE.com said.
The likelihood is Reigns coming out on top. Measuring how well the Big Dog has recovered will likely depend on the length of the match and the physicality both WWE stars will engage in.
