Columnist and author Meghan McCain hit back on President Donald Trump after he trashed her father, the late Senator John McCain Saturday, and pointed to his "pathetic life," resorting to insulting dead men on Twitter weekends. She even enjoined him to focus on his family rather than hers.
Responding to the president's weekend Twitter storm against her father, The View co-host pushed back with her own tirade, referring to the way Trump spent his weekends, not with his family or his friends. He instead obsessed "over great men" who she said the former could not hope to emulate.
On Monday's The View, the Arizona Republican's daughter picked up steam and unloaded her commentary with her co-hosts present during the episode, saying how Trump was someone that "no one" would "love" and that her late father was the former's "kryptonite" both in "life" and in "death."
She pointed out that she could not imagine a father who did such things on weekends, instead of spending time with family, as she had done with her father when the late Senator had been alive---going on a hike or "fishing" and "cooking" together, "celebrating life."
Saturday's tweet attack on the senator, who died in August after battling brain cancer, was Trump's most recent carp against the deceased, with whom the President had a long-standing feud when he was alive, and now, apparently, even in death.
The United States President took to Twitter to take up his continued onslaught, saying that the elder McCain's act of "spreading" the infamous Russian dossier, which Trump branded as "fake" and "totally discredited," was a "'dark stain,'" quoting independent counsel Ken Starr, against the senator.
Trump went further on to point out that there were far worse stains than what Starr had referred to, referring to McCain's "thumbs down" against Obamacare.
The US President tweeted again Sunday to say more disparaging remarks on the deceased senator, even making the snide comment "last in his class."
His behavior had invited comment from other Twitter users, one in particular, @SenWHitehouse, which appeared on the McCain daughter Megan's feed, saying that there was something "deeply" troubling about the President @realDonaldTrump "constantly" putting down the elder McCain, "trying to belittle" him, pointing out that "deep down" he "must" know that "John" was a "far better" man.
It is worth noting, though, that Starr may have pointed to the controversial dossier as "a very dark stain" against the Senator, but he had also referred to the deceased as a "great man" as well as "an American hero" in his Saturday interview with Fox News.
Trump's comments had been in reference to British spy Christopher Steele's documents which maintained there had been collusion between Russia's Kremlin and the Trump presidential campaign, which have been disavowed by both parties. There are said to be even more damning evidence of acts of lasciviousness in the aforementioned dossier which are yet to be substantiated.
To note, most of the memos contained in the aforementioned dossier are said to have stood the test of verification.
