Hard-to-impress Melania was said to have found the oldest of seven wonders, the Great Pyramids of Egypt, impactful. This was according to Trump, who recently made a point of commenting on his wife's first solo trip abroad, which included a last stop to El Giza. This he shared prior to Tuesday's talks with Egypt's Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
The President emphasized that the First Lady of the United States was welcomed "beautifully" when she visited Egypt, hosted by President Al Sisi and his First Lady Entissar Amer.
Trump waxed on about the trip, indicating Melania believed the pyramids were "one of the most incredible" wonders she had sighted. He went on to say that the First Lady had many pictures of that visit, that "great day" and of that "great moment" at the Great Pyramid.
He also went on to state he was hopeful that a lot of people would go and see the pyramids which he promoted as being a sight to see. Trump even stressed that, despite being very hard to impress, Melania was "very impressed" indeed at the sights she had seen on the desert.
During that time, Melania herself posted on social media some pictures taken during her trip, including a couple of shots where she posed in front of the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid.
She tweeted about her "unbelievable experience" in Egypt and thanked her hosts for their "warm" welcome.
This was during the last leg of her trip to Africa back in October 2018 as a part of her international visit. She had gone to four African nations, namely, Ghana, Malawi, Kenya, and of course, Egypt, as the recent Trump hype is all about. The pyramids had been on her last stop before flying back home to the U.S.
Of her trip, Trump had gone on social to post a couple of tweets praising Melania---and Egypt. He emphasized that she and Africa were "loving each other" on his first tweet, and then later he tweeted on how "very well" his wife had "represented America."
In other news of Egypt and the White House, Trump has declared that the United States and Egypt have never had a "better relationship" than now.
But when asked about Al Sisi's plans to extend his presidency, Trump merely said that he had no idea "about the effort" and instead praised the Egyptian president for the "great job" he does and what a "great person" he was.
This is Al Sisi's second visit to the White House, and Trump has been singing his praises of the former, who has been accused of gross maltreatment of political prisoners and utilizing death sentences to deal with dissidents, as human rights groups have claimed.
