May is just a few days away and OnePlus is prepping its fans for its first official announcement of the year. There has been a ton of rumors regarding a new device, and even CEO and founder Peter Lau stoked us even more. New renders of the OnePlus 7 was discovered recently and it somewhat pin the company's schedule to have a new handset next month.

As posted by leaker @OnLeaks on his Twitter account and Pricebaba on their recent article, the new 5K renders and 360-view of the OnePlus 7 is kind of different from what sources posted last month. The latter source, who exclusively reported about the issue, is now saying that the previous renders might be the OnePlus 7 Pro and not the standard version of the Smartphone.

@OnLeaks meanwhile described the OnePlus 7 as a "rebranded OnePlus 6T 5G" because both handhelds are strikingly similar in aesthetics. When compared to the previous renders, Android Authority also pointed that the conventional OnePlus 7 will not sport a pop-up front camera. The OnePlus 7 will only have two rear cameras instead of the three camera setup that was previously leaked, they added.

Pricebaba also noted that there are several differences between the OnePlus 6T and the OnePlus 7. The LED flash, which in the previous iteration "sits outside the oblong camera module," is now transferred on the inside. There is also a noticeable bump on the camera that adds thickness to the OnePlus 7.

The OnePlus 7 will also have a water-drop notch in front alongside a 6.2inch display screen. It is also slightly smaller than the OnePlus 6T, which measured in at 6.41inches. The alert slider and the power button are still placed on the right of the device, while the volume rocker and SIM card tray are housed on the left. Below the OnePlus 7 is the traditional USB Type-C charging port "flanked by holes."

There have been no official specs about the OnePlus 7, but if rumors are to be followed, the upcoming Smartphone will sport a full HD+ AMOLED or Super Optic screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor. A 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 will be the workhorse of the OnePlus 7, together with an alleged 6GB RAM and a 4,150mAh battery.

Several leaks also point that the OnePlus 7 Pro will have as much as 10GB RAM just like the McLaren edition of the OnePlus 6T. The base model will core on the company's Oxygen OS that's modeled from Android 9 Pie. Either way, May is fast approaching, and the tech world will have their eyes glued on OnePlus' new gadget.
