Xiaomi's Pocophone F1 became an instant hit to budget users when it came out last year. The device tagged along with decent specs and an affordable price tag that caught the attention of those who were looking for a popular alternative. With the Pocophone F1's success, the Beijing-based brand immediately worked on a successor that gained an ample amount of rumors during the last few months of 2018.

The aptly named Pocophone F2 will once again wave Xiaomi's flag in the mid-range category. With the likes of Oppo's Realme, OnePlus, Asus working nonstop to make budget-friendly Smartphones, it is only fitting that Xiaomi will try to shake things up a bit. The Pocophone F2, if rumors prove to be accurate, will be a flagship device in the ever-competitive mid-tier arena.

One source reported that one of the most prevailing buzzes that surrounds the Pocophone F2 is its processor. One previous guess was found on a Geekbench listing and jotted a Snapdragon 845 SoC. However, this was regarded as "fake" because the listing was a "build prop edit" of the Pocophone F1. Since then, followers are leaning on a stable impression that the Pocophone F2 will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core CPU.

Alongside the processor, the Pocophone F2 will come in two versions: a 6GB/64GB variant and an 8GB/128GB option that could go up to 256GB of onboard storage. 91mobiles also said that the next generation Pocophone will ship with an Adreno 640 graphics card that's capable of playing 8K videos. Pair this with the handset's 6GB RAM, and it should give users "lag-free multitasking and gaming."

On the outside, the Pocophone F2 should come with a 6.3inch IPS LCD display screen with 1,080x2,340 resolution. Xiaomi also gave the F2 a generous lather of Corning Gorilla Glass to protect the screen from daily use and accidental bumps and scratches. It will be powered by a massive 4,100mAh battery that supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0+.

As for its camera, speculations pegs that it will incorporate a 16MP, 8MP 5MP triple camera setup. The previous source also sees that the Pocophone F2 will feature a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor. It added a potential 16MP selfie shooter with F/1.9 aperture.

While both sources point the Pocophone F2 will be released in May, there is no official word coming from Xiaomi on this detail. Asia will once again be Xiaomi's target market and will look to expand the market of India, Singapore, Indonesia, and Hong Kong. The Pocophone F2 should also come with a sticker price of around $320 to $399. There is another rumor that Xiaomi is developing a Pocophone F2 with an insanely huge 10GB RAM that will shed "at least $420 or a little more."
