Leighton Meester gushed currently about her marriage with Adam Brody; she also shared that she would "never say never" to a Gossip Girl revival.
The 33-year-old actress was recently in a rare interview along with her husband of five years, and she promoted Brody's appearance on her television show Single Parents with abundant praise. Her openness to share during the said interview was somewhat a surprise to fans, considering the couple's reputation for keeping their personal lives out of the limelight.
But Meester was very openly supportive of her man, describing him as her "best friend." She even shared how she liked to work with him "on everything" as she believes he is the "best in everything." The Gossip Girl alum thinks Brody is "really good," speaking of his guesting during the season finale of her sitcom. She shared that she was not really "worried" about him playing his part, believing that he had done an "amazing" job.
In a separate interview, she was asked whether she would be willing to reprise her role as Blair Cornelia Waldorf, the lead character in the 2007 (to 2012) drama series Gossip Girl, in the event of a revival.
Meester pointed out that "no one" has mentioned it to her or asked her about it, except when it was brought up in interviews. Nobody has "sent" her the information on that either, she explained. But she said that her answer would always be "the same."
The Fort Worth, Texas, native admitted she would "never say never" in the event of a revival happening, despite having said last year that she may not, because the set of the show just was not the "healthiest environment" for her.
To this, her The O.C. alum husband quipped that whoever was in the know regarding a revival of the teen drama series should send him the information. He offered to be the one to look over the plans and decide whether she should do a revival, if it so happened.
After some iconic shows have received a revival treatment several years after being last shown---Beverly Hills 90210 and Veronica Mars---fans of the CW drama are hoping their favorite sitcom Gossip Girl would get the same attention.
The excitement over any possibility of its revival has fans flipping over, especially after the CW Network president Mark Pedowitz spoke during the press tour for the Television Critics Association, mentioning that CW was considering the idea.
According to Pedowitz, there is some "discussion" going on about possibility of a Gossip Girl revival, but he says he does not know whether "we're there yet."
Two other stars of the TV series, Blake Lively (who played Serena van der Woodsen) and Chace Crawford (who played Nate Archibald) have already indicated their support for a revival should there be one.
