Melania Trump was recently caught in a 'Princess Diana moment' at the South Lawn while walking to the Marine One ahead of her trip to Japan with the President.
On her way to catch her flight to Japan with her husband, the First Lady Melania Trump navigated puffs of wind wafting through White House South Lawn. She was caught in what was referred to as a "Princess Diana moment" when her dress clung to her legs and its hem became transparent as the sun's rays shone through.
The Melania moment, which was captured in photo, brought back the time when Princess Diana was famously caught in a similar snapshot. The latter photo was taken around the later part of the 1980s before she was wed and was still Prince Charles' girlfriend. The late royal, mother of Prince Charles and Prince Harry, had her back to the sunlight then, wearing a transparent skirt which clearly showed the outline of her legs.
As for 45-year-old Melania, she remained unperturbed as she walked through the South Lawn, and her appearance looked tastefully put together. Well-dressed in her $3,900 Calvin Klein A-line cut, post-card print, long-sleeved dress cinched at the waist with a tiny brown belt, she walked close to the President, both of them with an arm around the other, palms at the small of each other's back.
The First Lady of the United States completed her outfit with her favored Christian Louboutin brand of footwear, this time the Agneska navy, almond-toed, four-inch-high heels with the wavy cut on the side. She had donned oversized sun glasses for the trip and opted to keep her hair flowing down to shoulder-length, showing off her new highlights.
The FLOTUS was set to accompany her husband, the 72-year-old President of the United States, Donald Trump. For the trip, Trump had on a navy suit set off by a red tie, with which he wore a pair of black dress shoes.
As Melania boarded, Trump made a quick turn around and showed a thumbs up. He had spoken to reporters present, telling them that an additional 1,500 American troops will reinforce U.S. military presence in the Middle East.
The couple flew into Joint Base Andrews in Maryland where they disembarked and then took the Air Force One to fly on to Japan. They left Friday and are expected to be in Japan for four days on a state visit.
They are expected to pay their respects to the newly enthroned emperor. The first couple of America will be the very first state guests to be received by Emperor Naruhito. The president will be attending the state banquet hosted by the Emperor.
The Japanese Emperor had only just taken the Chrysanthemum Throne in May 1. This was after his father had abdicated in his favor.
There will also be an opportunity for Trump to have a talk with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who, it has been reported, has close relations with the former, being someone that the American leader is able to talk to for "hours and hours."
Whether anything could be counted on to take back home in terms of "trade" as well as "defense cooperation," a U.S. official revealed that a news conference attended by Trump and Abe will carry significant "announcements" about the two countries' future relationship.
In a lighter note on the trip, Prime Minister Abe and President Trump will be teeing off at a golf course and will then attend a sumo wrestling match, where the "Trump Cup" shall go to the top wrestler.
The President and Melania are also expected to attend a Memorial Day tribute while in Tokyo. It was earlier reported that the first couple had dropped by Arlington Memorial Cemetery ahead of their trip to place some flags on the tombs of American soldiers who have given their lives to the service.
