The 2020 Ford Escape has been recently launched, and now CarsDirect had released the official prices for the ranges it will have as well as the novelties and updates that will come with each range. The price had a modest increase, which starts at $25,980 including destination charges but considering all that's offered on the updated version, it's considerably worth it to buy.

The new Ford Escape will play an important role in the North American brand. Now that the brand's strategy will focus on SUVs and pickup trucks. The Ford Escape has always been a relatively affordable option in its class, hence why the company was hesitant to increase. However, buyers should consider that Ford had worked hard to update this model and gave the 2020 Ford Escape fresh styling, a new platform, and more technology in the inside making it the newest and the most competitively priced car in its class.

The new Ford Escape has the SYNC 3 connectivity system, an infotainment system through which users can control via simple voice commands. It also includes an 8' touch screen reverse camera and Sony audio system with nine speakers. It also has the Auto Start / Stop engine system, which automatically shuts off the engine when the brake is applied and turns it on again when the brake is released, an action that helps decrease fuel consumption.

The 2020 Ford Escape will also include new adaptive HID headlamps, new acoustic laminated glass, leather seats, LED fog lamps, heated leather steering wheel and the Active Parking Assistant which makes parking in parallel or perpendicular turns easier. The system is in charge of locating the precise space of parking and of making the necessary turns of the steering wheel by itself, leaving the pilot the control of the accelerator, the brake and the change of speeds.

The 2020 Ford Escape will be available in five finishes with three engine variants. The base 2020 Ford Escape S with a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that outputs 183hp is priced at $25,980, an increase of $ 780 over the previous generation. It will not be the cheapest segment in the US market, a title that belongs to Hyundai Tucson, sold for $ 23,200. However, it will be cheaper than some rivals like the Chevrolet Equinox or Toyota RAV4.

Next in the range is the 2020 Ford Escape SE which will adopt the hybrid powertrain that consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and an electric motor which starts at $29,350. The engine system combined with the electric motor can output up to 200hp. It is more expensive than its competitor, Toyota RAV4 Hybrid LE, which costs $ 28,945. Official consumption figures have not yet been released, but Ford says it should reach 16.5 km/liter, with a range of 885 km which is higher than the Rav4

The 2020 Ford Escape SEL variant comes with the1.5-liter EcoBoost that can output up to 200hp is priced at a starting range of $30,350. Buyers can opt to choose the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that will increase the car's horsepower to 253, but it will come at an additional price of $2,285.

At the top of the line, there is the titanium version of the 2020 Ford Escape which also use the hybrid powertrain and is priced at $34,495. There's still no price for the Escape Plug-In Hybrid, but it's estimated starting price could be $40.000.

The new Ford Escape will be available for sale in the United States later this fall, but the Plug-in Hybrid will only be available by 2020.
