Jaguar F-Type, consider as one of the most beautiful and popular models of Jaguar has been in the market for seven years and had taken only a few changes along the way. Now the 2019 Jaguar F-Type will reportedly take a leap and will include significant changes in the technology department and a possible electric version to come.
To start with, the 2019 Jaguar F-Type will undergo essential changes to its engine. Since the launch of the F-Type in 2013, the British sports car has been linked to a range of V6 and V8 engines. However, the brand has decided to include in 2018 a new and more economical option as access variant from the most powerful engine of its line, a four-cylinder range.
The V6 engine will now be gone and will be replaced by the four-cylinder Turbo 2.0-liter engine with 300 horsepower and almost 400 n/m of torque on it. This engine offers improvement in efficiency and is also lighter than versions with V6 and V8 engines. This inline four-cylinder engine is only associated with an 8-speed automatic transmission and with a rear-wheel drive system. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
The V8 engine version is reported to stay but is still to be confirmed as the brand has yet to announce its full range of the F-type.
The arrival of the new engine resulted in a small exterior restyling. Jaguar redesigned the bumpers of the entire range while outlining a couple of specific details. It also adds 18 new colors in its palette for both the coupe version and the roadster variant. Thanks to this, F-type owners can enjoy more color variations of the vehicle. The 18-inch alloy wheels of the F-type will reportedly stay.
The innovations of the Jaguar F-Type 2019 are not limited to aesthetic changes of its exterior or the arrival of the torque vectoring system. Inside, and as a great change to its standard equipment, the British sports car opens a new infotainment system from a 10-inch screen called "InControl Touch Pro." This system includes connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Lastly, the new Jaguar F-Type will also debut a new frameless rearview mirror and a new design for climate control outputs.
The Jaguar F-TYPE electric car version has been sidelined, but it is expected to be seen later this year. The brand has emphasized that tthe future of the F-TYPE is to become pure electric and as a completely new model that will compete with other high-end brands in the market.
