Miley Cyrus has explained the lyrics of her track "Cattitude" which is one of the songs on her She Is Coming album for release on May 31.

Fans of the singer were bewildered by its lyrics "I love you Nicki" which then goes on with "but I listen," she says in it "to Cardi." Some were wondering whether she was throwing shade at Nicki Minaj. But the 26-year-old music artist clarified she was doing no such thing.

Speaking with Roman Kemp at the Capital Breakfast show, the singer and songwriter shared that she thought there was no longer any "beef" between them anymore, referring to September's unfortunate squabble at Harper's Bazaar between the two artists. She remarked that it was her belief one is allowed to "enjoy" a couple of artists who perform in the same category.

She went on to expand that she had grown up working with the artists Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, but had never felt there was any sort of competition between them. She also said that was the reason she was great friends with Ariana Grande.

She also pointed out that, when one is being their real self, there is no other one who can be "you." The "Wrecking Ball" singer went on to say, speaking of Nicki and Cardi, that one cannot be "worried" about someone else "stealing" one's place because, being unique, that place cannot be taken over by any other.

She declared that the two icons did not have to "share" a "crown" because there is just "no reason" for them to be competing over it. This is because, she reasoned, the two were "both queens." She even confessed, gushing over the two singers, that she takes to listening to their songs whenever she wanted to get that "strong" and "empowered" vibe.

Cyrus' need to clear the air about her lyrics could be put down to an incident some years back when Nicki had publicly called her out for weighing in on what she took as Nicki throwing some shade on Taylor Swift. At the time, Nicki had referred to her as "this bitch" who she said had "a lot to say" about her. The provocative singer had called her out "Miley," asking, "what's good?"

The pop singer gave some fans Saturday a sample of three of her new tracks for release at the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend. These were said to be entitled "Dream," "Cattitude," and "Mother's Daughter." Besides giving fans a glimpse of her upcoming songs in a live preview, she also went into a few favorites as "Party in the U.S.A" and "We Can't Stop," which she performed in a duet with Charli XCX.
