The long-awaited update of the popular jailbreaking and multi-function tool developed by Jay Freeman, more popularly known in the jailbreaking world as Saurik, has finally arrived. The popular developer shared the good news on Reddit while providing the changelog to provide more details of the latest version of the jailbreaking tool and multi-function tool, Cydia Impactor 0.9.52.
What's In The New Version?
According to Saurik, the latest version, which is the Cydia Impactor 0.9.52 comes with some fixes. This includes improvement in the error message for the missing zip entry. Additionally, the latest version offers a 64-bit macOS slice for the newest version of the macOS, the macOS 10.15 or the macOS Catalina announced last Monday at the WWDC 2019. The new Cydia Impactor 0.9.52 is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
What Is Cydia Impactor?
Even before the release of the Cydia Impactor 0.9.52, the multifunction tool is already a popular name in the jailbreaking community. It is a very versatile tool that is available on operating systems like Windows, Linux, and macOS. It can also perform a wide range of tasks for the Android and iOS platform.
Some users even use Cydia Impactor to install different iOS IPA files and apps on their devices without the need to jailbreak the device. Cydia Impactor 0.9.52 was originally developed by Jay Freeman in 2013 as a device management tool to jailbreak android phones with the use of an exploit called Master Key. Later, Saurik also released a software with the same name to tweak iPad and iPhone devices by removing the jailbreak without the need to restore the device to the fresh firmware.
To avoid confusion, Saurik renamed the tool as Cydia Eraser. The original Cydia Impactor 0.9.52 was coded again and then re-introduced with new features that benefit both iOS and Android platforms. One of its major features is allowing users to sign in and install the APK on Android and IPA on iOS devices. This is one of the most popular features that developers use when sideloading the apps for testing purposes.
While there are numerous ways to sideload the IPA apps on iPod, iPhone, and iPad devices, the Cydia Impactor 0.9.52 is the most preferred because of its compatibility to the three major operating systems namely the Windows, Linux, and macOS. The Cydia Impactor 0.9.52 is a very simple but powerful tool and many like it because it is lightweight. Most users claim that they forget about other tools and methods after using the Cydia Impactor 0.9.52
