The partnership between the New Orleans Pelicans and Anthony Davis is finally looking to end. After a number of failed attempts to woe Davis to stay in the team, the Pelicans is reportedly now taking in trade proposals for review with Los Angeles Lakers at the front of the list.

According to NBA trade rumors, the Pelicans reportedly tried to woe Davis many times with Vice President David Griffin saying they really want their star to stay on the team. According to Shams Charania, of The Athletic, Griffin met with Davis and his agent Rich Paul to change the thinking of the NBA star about leaving the Pelicans. Even the fact that the Pelicans won the Draft lottery and could select Zion Williamson, to be one of the pillars of the team along with Davis, did not help change the mind of Davis and he is adamant in his decision to leave the franchise.

With that, after the meeting, which was interestingly held in Los Angeles, Griffin informed the board of the player's desire and now the Pelicans are reviewing the trade proposals for their main player, with the Lakers at the front of the list.

NBA trade rumors all points out to Lakers as Davis wanted to go to the Staples dressed in purple and gold and unite with his old friend, Lakers main weapon, Lebron James. The Lakers offer is tempting as they are willing to trade anybody except Lebron or Kentavious Caldwell-Pope for Davis. This then includes promising options for the Prlicans such as Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, Michael Beasley and two first-round picks.

However, the Pelicans should act fast and grab this opportunity to trade Davis to the Lakers, the Chicago Bulls, the New York Knicks or other team Davis may land as the free agent market is coming soon and Lakers may change their mind and aim for those free agents.

The market for free agents in the NBA will officially open on June 30. Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Kawhi Leonard, DeMarcus Cousins, Jimmy Butler will be the golden and brilliant gems that everyone will want to have. In the case of Davis, as he is not a free-agent, the Pelicans should trigger the trade button soon as the earlier the team gives him an exit, the more value the player could have.

If the Pelicans should choose a trade to finally give Davis to the Lakers, NBA trade rumors say that it may be Ingram that they would want included in the list of trades. According to reports, evenlthough Ingram is not consitent in his first NBA season, he is a player with both physically and technical skills and a talent that offers a huge margin of growth.

So far everything is in place except for one small detail: the health problem suffered by Ingram at the end of the season. The forward of the Lakers had stopped playing in early March due to the appearance of blood clots in his right arm. A month later it was operated and the mishap seems to be solved. However, and given what happened, for example, with Chris Bosh, it would not be a surprise that the Pelicans would want to make sure that it is a problem that will not be repeated before undertaking any movement.

Right now, all are still NBA trade rumors and we are yet to seen if Davis and Lebron will be united.
