After several weeks of heavy speculations and much anticipation, AMD finally launched today the AMD Radeon RX 5700 series. This includes the AMD Radeon RX 5700, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, AMD Radeon RX 5700 graphics cards, and the AMD Radeon RX 5700/ RX 5700 XT Anniversary Edition. The biggest surprise is not only the powerful specs that was previously leaked but also the respective prices of the products of the latest AMD Radeon RX 5700 series.
The New AMD Radeon RX 5700 Series
The new graphics cards boast the RDNA architecture core and the next generation AMD Navi GPU based on a 7nm process node. The RDNA core architecture will replace the GCN architecture that was released in 2011. The Austin-based semi-conductor giant has officially taken the veil off of the performance numbers as well as the specifications of their newest product in the market which includes the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT.
Among the products included in the series, the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT is the fastest housing the Navi based card. The AMD Radeon RX 5700, on the other hand boasts competitive performance at a much lower price offer. While both cards share the same chip design and architecture, it appears that the AMD Radeon RX 5700 is slightly chipped off in terms of GPU configuration.
The AMD Radeon RX 5700 series is the first graphics card series to showcase the PCIe 4.0 support. This means that it is two time more powerful in handling bandwidth than the PCIe 3.0.
AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Official Specs
The $449 AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT launches with a total of 40 compute units yet still features 64 stream processors. This means, users will get around 2560 total stream processors. The Navi GPU has 256 TMU or texture mapping units and 64 ROU or Raster Operation units.

As for its clock speed, the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT has a base clock speed of 1605 MHz with a couple of clock speeds, the game clock and the boost clock. The boost clock has a 1905 MHz rating while the game clock has a 1755 MHz rating. With the rate of its boost clock, the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT is expected to produce a maximum of 9.75 TFLOPs single precision Compute.
Additionally, the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT boasts its 8GB GDDR6 memory runnings at a 256-bit wide bus interface. The company will also utilize the 14 Gbps memory dies putting it at par with the Turing TU104 cards. All of these specs were leaked yesterday and it appears that the leaked we have reported were actually accurate. Thanks, Videocardz!
