Selena Gomez recently confirmed she has upcoming music which will be coming out soon.
At the June 10 New York premiere of her latest zombie-fantasy movie, The Dead Don't Die, Selena Gomez let it be known that the new music she has been working on is "finally done." However, the next evening, she spoke more lengthily about it on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
And so just like that, after four years being absent from the music scene, avid fans of the artist can now have something to look forward to once more from their beloved singer. The 26-year-old pop artist had been away some time, dealing with some health and personal issues as well as a relationship break-up.
But she has emerged bit by bit and has been seen going out in public with some friends. And just last week Tuesday, she was talking to Jimmy Fallon and formally confirmed that there indeed is a new album on the way. She is winding down, with only a few more details to accomplish on it.
She said that she was "relieved" that it is done and will be putting some "finishing things." She also revealed to Fallon that it had taken her "four years now" to get to that "good place" regarding the upcoming album.
The "We Don't Talk Anymore" singer shared that it had taken a while because so much had happened to her in the last four years. She had been working on how she was going to "capture" those moments and come up with something that she would be able to "feel good about."
But she confessed she had just "kept going" and now felt like she was released from all that happened during that period of her life. The young actress and producer described her upcoming work as being "true" and in keeping with her "pop roots." She was able to go somewhere else with her music, letting it "hit different places" but still along her "lane."
She pointed out though that what was "most important" was that she created a connection through it with other people, at an "emotional level."
So there's that, although it was more than just her music that has kept her busy these days. Some quarters believe that there may be more in store for the singer-actress in the movie industry after her film The Dead Don't Die was only recently released.
Another upcoming film of Gomez's, this time a romantic comedy from Woody Allen called A Rainy Day In New York would be released this year in October.
