Earlier this year Ford introduced the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 during the Detroit Auto Show in January. At that time the American giant did not want to advance the power and torque figures of its new GT500 to more than 700hp. After several months of waiting, finally, the US company has revealed the final power figures of the new Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 2020, which becomes the most powerful street-legal car Ford has ever made, thanks to the 770 hp and 625 lb-ft of maximum torque deliver.

A "street vehicle" is an automobile that is legally permitted for use on common streets and roads, that is, that is not limited to race tracks. The new Ford Shelby GT500 will be able to circulate in the same street as your regular Ford and reach a maximum speed of 290 kilometers per hour and the sound of your engine will simply be beautiful.

The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 block is the same as the 5.2 liter V8 'Voodoo' atmospheric of the GT350, made of aluminum alloy, although this time it is equipped with an Eaton volumetric compressor, which facilitates an increase in power of almost 240 HP compared to its smaller brother, who is satisfied with 533 HP.

The acceleration time of the 2020 Ford GT500 from 0 to 100 km / h is said to be close to 3.5 seconds and a quarter of a mile in less than 11 seconds. Its maximum speed will reach 290 km / h thanks to the seven-shift automatic double clutch transmission developed in conjunction with Tremec. The suspension is also a new generation MagneRide with adaptive dampers and the brake team is signed by Brembo, with front discs of 420 mm.

This figure assumes that the Ford Shelby GT500 is far superior to its competitors. It offers 112 more HP than the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE and its 6.2 liter V8 of 659 hp. It is 54 hp more than the powerful Dodge Challenger Hellcat, which is satisfied with 717 hp of its V8 with compressor and even 16 hp more than the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 which has a power of 755 HP.

Faced with exotic models, the new Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 also has the lead, at least in terms of pure power: 71 HP more than the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, 51 HP more compared to a Ferrari F8 Tribute and up to 1 HP more than the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ.

Only the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is able to cope with the new Shelby GT500 in terms of pure power, as this special edition that inherits numerous mechanical and frame elements of the brutal Demon delivers 808 hp and no less than 958 Nm of torque.

With its promised power, technological advancement inside, Recaro seats, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, and carbon fiber wheels, there is no doubt that the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 2020 is more than ready to devour the circuits. At the moment we already have the majority of information, although we still have to know the two most important details about it: the price and its date of commercialization. With all the hype that the GT500 is getting, expect Ford to release these details soon.
