A few days ago, we reported about leaked information concerning a new set of Nintendo Switch allegedly in the works in the company's production plant in Southeast Asia. The information came from one of the articles published by the WSJ covering the effect of the trade war between the US and China and its effect on different video games makers. Just recently Nintendo released a statement about these rumored new models of the hybrid console.

According to WSJ, Nintendo has already moved its production to Southeast Asia and currently developing two new models of the Nintendo Switch. One of the models, according to the report, has a similar form factor as the current hybrid console but with much better components. The other model, on the other hand, will have a different look and lower specs, which makes it a lesser expensive variant. Aside from these, there are other rumors outside this report claiming that there is a Nintendo Switch mini in the works.

During the most recent shareholders meeting, the Japanese consumer electronics and video game company revealed that they are aware of the current rumors going around. While they did not confirm any of the rumors, the way they worded their statement was a surprise to the gaming community. Nintendo said that they are aware of the reports about the new variants of the Nintendo Switch.

However, they said that answering to speculations and rumors would spoil the surprises that they have in store for their customers. It will also be an unprofitable move which would be unfair to all of their shareholders. The statement further said that at the moment they have no answer, but as a general theory, the company is always developing new hardware.

Nowhere in the statement did Nintendo confirmed or denied about the rumored variants of the Nintendo Switch. But, if you read between the lines, the company has already given away their indirect confirmation. Generally, in theory, all video game manufacturers are indeed expected to continue developing something new for their customers.

Interestingly, Nintendo could have simply said no and dropped the subject instantly by denying the existence of the rumored models. But since they did not, fans are hoping that the company's most recent statement is an indirect confirmation that they are developing new variants of Nintendo Switch. It is also smart not to confirm anything, so the shareholders continue being interested, and the customers can keep on talking about it.
