Just recently, the Golden State Warriors signed in D'Angelo Russell to a $117 million four-year contract through the sign and trade with the Brooklyn Nets. For the Golden State Warriors to land the NBA All-star, they have to move their seasoned forward Andre Iguodala. The former NBA MVP was sent to the Grizzlies together with the warrior's future round one pick.

Many sports analysts think that the NBA All-Star guard D'Angelo Russell might not last long with the Golden State Warriors. The team's move to get Russell immediately followed after Kevin Durant made a decision to be with the Brooklyn Nets during the start of this year's NBA free agency together with Kyrie Irving who both agreed to a four-year deal with the nets. Although many praised the Warrior's ability to quickly bounce back after losing the former two-time NBA Finals MVP, many are also raising different questions; one of these is on how D'Angelo Russell will fit in with the Golden State Warriors.

It turns out that the strategic move to get D'Angelo Russell may be more about gaining asset rather than a franchise fit. According to the New York Times, the Golden State Warrior might eventually find ways to trade D'Angelo Russell, and it will not be a matter of if but more of a matter of when. Stein claims that the NBA all-star does not fit in the Warrior. He adds that the team just doesn't want to see Durant walk out without any compensation. The nagging question that many are raising right now is on how the Golden State Warrior will use D'Angelo Russell should Klay Thompson get back from his ACL injury.

For a short while, the NBA all-star could be a shooting guard for the Warriors, but somebody will play out of position eventually. Many predict that D'Angelo Russell might be used by the Warriors during the start of the season and will see how he and Steph Curry will work together as a pair and then go out from there. It was earlier reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Lakers were among the teams allegedly interested in signing in D'Angelo Russell before he was acquired by the Warriors. There is a great chance that these teams would most likely add the NBA all-star on their lineup should a potential trade with the Golden State Warriors becomes open.
