A new report about the heavily rumored new model of Nintendo Switch surfaced today giving fans an idea of what to expect from the upcoming model of the hybrid console. It can be recalled that a few weeks ago, reports claiming that the Japanese gaming console giant is making two new variants of the hybrid console hit the web. For this particular article, let us call the upcoming model Nintendo Switch 2 to prevent confusion and for clarity sake.
In a report released by Eurogamer, it gave an evaluation on the chip that will allegedly power the Nintendo Switch 2. The chip is concealed under code name Mariko and is labeled as a partner to the Tegra X1. The new chip is believed to create several major improvements.
In addition to providing a wide array of performance boosts, Mariko will also power the upcoming hybrid console to run quietly. The report also claims that since it can help the console to run quietly, the Nintendo Switch 2 will not require any cooling assembly while achieving the standard performance. The report also explains that the upcoming hybrid console and all other upcoming variants, including the mini, could be smaller but with more battery life and could be much quieter too.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is also expected to have a decent lift on its GPU in terms of image quality and frame rate through the use of dynamic resolution scaling. While the report says that the upcoming variant of the hybrid console will not have a massive jump it will be an interesting addition to the lineup of the hybrid console. The report also claims that there would be a revelatory rise in terms of system performance but not really in the form of a generational leap.
As previously leaked by the Wall Street Journal, there will be a couple of new models for the Nintendo Switch 2 that will be released in the future. One of the new variants will be a handheld console but a portable-only version. The WSJ also reported that the other model will be released at a cheaper price.
Rumors following the report from WSJ started to surface claiming that the cheaper variant will not come with a removable joy-cons and would be most likely a successor to the Nintendo 3DS. Other rumors claim that the Nintendo Switch pro or the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released as a premium option to the Nintendo Switch available today.
