A new detail about the Asus ROG Phone 2 has leaked out, indicating the device will support rapid charging capability that for mobile gamers is certified good news. The latest info came from China, where the handset is said to be introduced soon, in the form of 3C certification for 30W fast charging, which hinted of an upcoming Android flagship device.

As per the listing picked up by Gizmo China, the next gaming phone from Asus "will be available with a charger that will support for 30W rapid charging." The same device is said to be labeled ASUS_I001DA, and it will be the most premium of the handsets that are thought to see the light of the day in the next few weeks.

According to GSM Arena, the 30W power rating was originally found with the first release of the line. It only means that while there are exciting upgrades to be expected from the latest installment, Asus has elected to leave untouched the next ROG Phone's charging features.

But in the display department, it has been confirmed that the ROG Phone 2 will boast of 120Hz screen refresh rate, which is a step up from the 90Hz served with its predecessor. Now, this would translate to a smoother, faster, and overall better gaming experience with the device that was first seen with the Razer Phone.

In order to optimize this particular feature, Asus has stated that it will collaborate with Tencent Games for the latter to develop new titles or reconfigure existing games that would make for an immersive mobile gaming experience with the ROG Phone 2.

For now, though, it's still unclear if Tencent is ready to launch ROG-optimized games at the same time that the ROG Phone 2 is supposed to come out.

When the phone gets unboxed, it surely is a capable device, but the actual hardware specs have been kept under wraps by Asus. Yet it's highly likely that the power inside of the device will be due to the inclusion of Snapdragon 855 SoC, the processor of choice for most 2019 Android flagship releases.

With the SD 855 firing up the Asus ROG Phone 2, it has to get a more than adequate RAM support, possibly the same 12GB that Asus had deployed with the original version.

And like the first release, a glowing Asus logo at the rear of the phone and a cooling system, which essential for long hours of gaming, should be part of the ROG Phone 2 package.

The Asus ROG Phone 2 is scheduled to be launched on July 23 through a planned event in Beijing. When the device starts selling, it is expected that the base model will have a tag price of around $640.
