As soon as Paul George was traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Los Angeles Clippers, rumors have begun circulating on the Internet that Russell Westbrook is going to the Miami Heat. Although most speculations and rumors often end up as gossips, Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel believes the rumors about the Westbrook-heat deal have some merit on it.

During one of the episodes of Kevin Rogers' WQAM Evenings Reporter's Show, Winderman talked about the possibility of Russell Westbrook inking a deal with the Miami Heat. Windwrman's opinion should excite the fans of the team who might have two NBA stars in the upcoming season. The Miami Heat is expected to go down the team rankings and will go through the rebuilding process by the end of 2019 season since Dwayne Wade is planning to retire.

However, it appears that the outlook for the franchise has really changed with Jimmy Butler's arrival. There are several claims that Russell Westbrook might not have any interest in being with the Heat if it were not for Butler moving in. With the majority of the free agents off the hook this season, the nagging question is whether the Thunders will let Westbrook go.

It can be recalled that the Oklahoma City Thunders moved Paul George in exchange for four unprotected round 1 picks, Danilo Gallinari and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. It appears that the franchise is also heading to a rebuilding process. If this is the case, then moving Russell Westbrook elsewhere is the team's current priority.

Moving a persistent NBA All-Star player simply indicates that the Thunders gets a good package in return. The OKC currently have two guards Hamidou Diallo and Gilgeous-Alexander and it is most likely that they are going to add another one. Meanwhile, Steve Kyler, an NBA insider, said that the Miami Heat could trade Russell Westbrook in exchange for Tyler Herro. This could give the OKC a rookie oozing with a lot of potentials. On the other hand, Russell Westbrook has been with OKC for more than a decade. He has the 2016-2017 MVP and got to the NBA Finals once during the time James Harden and Kevin Durant were still playing for the Thunders.

Looking back at the past season, the Oklahoma City Thunders have never gotten past the round one playoffs. Russell Westbrook moving to Miami Heat could be a fresh start for him. This could be a powerful move that could change the fate of both Westbrook and the Miami Heat.
