Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Harry are said to have a closer relationship, yet one of the choices of the Duke of Sussex reportedly lead to resentment from Her Majesty.

The monarch and Meghan Markle's husband seem to have a strong relationship, and the latter speaks highly of Queen Elizabeth, where he also refers to as "granny." But then, Her Majesty reportedly disliked one of the choices of Prince Harry, and it didn't go down well with her, according to a royal expert.

Royal author Katie Nicholl claims the Queen isn't a fan of Prince Harry's facial hair. The Duke of Sussex started growing his beard when he was abroad on military duties, and since then, his facial hair stuck. While he seemed to be a big fan of his hairy fair, the monarch reportedly disliked and disapproved it.

In her biography Harry: Life, Loss, and Love, Nicholl claims Queen Elizabeth thinks men should be "clean-shaven." When Prince Harry met his wife Markle, Her Majesty reportedly noticed the Duchess of Sussex inspired her grandson's "health overhaul." The royal author added that the Duke of Sussex looked fitter than he was a few years ago.

Despite that, Nicholl said Prince Harry was still sporting his beard he'd grown in the military, and royal aides reportedly told the royal expert that Queen Elizabeth disliked it. In a report from Hello! Magazine, a royal insider also talked about Her Majesty's resentment regarding the appearance of the Duke of Sussex.

While the rest of the royal family likes his beard, particularly his cousin Zara Tindall who dubbed him as "Prince Hairy," the monarch reportedly let her displeasure be known. Nicholl claims that Queen Elizabeth doesn't mind royal men being hairy while they are away in the military, but she reportedly expects them to be clean-shaven as soon as they come back in the palace.

In 2015, Prince Harry left the army after having started the military training back in 2005, but he's still sporting his facial hair even though he's not in the military anymore. The Duke of Sussex also has a beard during his wedding to Markle on May 2018, and that might haven't gone down well with the monarch as she has the right to choose what her grandson would wear during the wedding.

But while Queen Elizabeth probably disliked Prince Harry's facial hair, the Duke of Sussex was spotted over the weekend during the premiere of The Lion King alongside his wife, and he's proudly rocked his beard.
