Tech giant Apple is set to release its newly designed 16-inch MacBook Pro much earlier than expected. While the exact release date remains a mystery, the rumor mill is filled with speculations claiming that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will have a starting price of $3000 for its entry-level model.

While $3000 might be a tad too much for a laptop, it is important to remember that Apple is not really the kind of company that is known for conservative pricing. Nevertheless, tech insiders have noted that the newly designed MacBook Pro will be worth its price as it is expected to sport a lot of new features and upgrades.

The base model of the 16-inch MacBook Pro is expected to use the rather outdated LCD technology for its display, rather than the new and power-efficient OLED technology. These LCD panels are reportedly made by Foxconn and Quanta. The display is expected to support resolution of up to 3072 x 1920. The display is touted to have an impressive 226 pixels-per-inch density. With this specs, the display is sure to deliver a sharp 3K resolution. This is despite the fact that it uses an LCD display.

While the decision to stick with LCD displays was met with a lot of criticism, Apple has always made amends by packing its flagship devices with high-end and premium features.

As for its memory, Apple is rumored to allow the configuration of the new MacBook Pro up to 32GB of RAM. While this is already offered on its 150-inch MacBook Pro, it comes at quite a hefty price tag.

Apple is making quite a number of improvements over its several lines of products. The tech giant has already released a refreshed version of the MacBook Air. The new model now supports True Tone display technology, but sadly still packs the same processors and other internal hardware.

Aside from the 16-inch MacBook Pro, Apple is also set to release a refreshed version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro. The exact release date is yet to be known, but a handful of tech insiders have already confirmed that Apple is working on it.

Notable Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo initially said that Apple's scissor-switch keyboard technology would finally make its way into the upcoming MacBook Air. This means that there is a big chance that the new MacBook Pro will also sport the same scissor key feature since it is considered a flagship model.
