The country has its natural sources for hot water, which enables the locals to have warm water directly pouring out of their very own faucet. Sometimes the water would have a strong smell of sulfur due to its geothermal origins.
Because of these resources, they are also able to generate their electricity, which cost lesser since it's from a renewable source. By maximizing this resource instead of using things such as fossil fuel for their electricity, Iceland is preserving their environment big time.
