Princess Diana is no doubt the most loved royal in the British Royal Family, and her natural qualities and charm, in addition to her genuine care for the people made her very close to everybody's heart. Marrying Prince Charles, she made sure that her duties as Princess of Wales would not go into waste, and she went for the extra mile of doing things from her charities to her royal duties and travels.
That is why people tend to compare her with her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry and inadvertently would make up a feud between them to show who's better than the other. Although it is clear enough that Prince William will be King of England in the future, Prince Harry still comes out as a very productive royal member, and no doubt gets the charm and emotional side of her mother, Princess Diana.
One way to see how the traits of Princess Diana was passed on to her sons would be to be able to live near them in Kensington Palace, and royal commentator Victoria Arbiter was able to describe them well as she sees the British Royal Family daily. Looking back at that time Arbiter's father was the Queen's press secretary, she describes how busy it was inside the Palace and even outside it as press and paparazzi was always on the lookout for a royal update or if Princess Diana or the rest of the royal members would come out.
Prince William and Prince Harry were already different in a lot of ways that time and Princess Diana had a very crucial role in protecting every one of them, especially in times of public scrutiny and to explain the situation, the simplest way possible. Princess Diana was indeed able to teach her sons how to experience some activities that ordinary people do like lining up to take food in a fast-food chain.
In this way, Prince William and Prince Harry were able to see the world in an un-royal way, and from there they can reach out easily to the people, something that their mother has championed a lot. Victoria Arbiter thus described Prince William and Prince Harry to get all the good and wholesome traits of Princess Diana, while Prince William was more of the one who is serious and firm.
On one occasion, Prince William showed his skills in public speaking as he was given the task to make a speech in front of Princess Diana's guests in a Christmas party way back 1992. The star-studded event attended by Elton John and George Michael paved the way for the 10-year-old royal at that time to show how he can already deliver an impressive speech.
Eventually, Princess Diana's qualities can be seen from Prince William in terms of his vivid show of empathy during his visits in the homeless shelter; this was proven by Julia Samuel the founder of the bereavement charity, Child Bereavement UK. From there, Samuel sees a similarity with Princess Diana and Prince William as he shows a deep understanding of the people's experiences and connects with them very easily.
