E3 2019 has come and gone, but no Sims 5 ever made it to our eyes so yes, we might not be seeing The Sims 5 in 2019. Of course, a lot of fans are disappointed that this year would end up pretty bleak, but we don't even know for sure if there will be a Sims 5. But EA released something for Sims 4, and so far, has been received by fans quite positively.
The Sims 4 now has the Island Living expansion complete with dolphins and mermaids. The latest expansion brought with it over 20 new content drops made available across gaming consoles, mobiles, and PCs.
The Sims 5 not happening isn't really surprising, to be honest. If you've been updating yourself with The Sims news, then you may have seen what the executive producer wrote on the official forum. In a now-deleted post, he said that the team isn't working on Sims 5. Furthermore, if the Sims 4 sees success, they won't be releasing a sequel. But as mentioned, that post has been deleted, so maybe they changed their mind?
If you look at it from a business POV, it makes a lot sense. After all, the predecessor is always the basis for every gaming sequel, at least most of it. And you can still do a lot of things in The Sims 4, as seen on the latest expansion.
So far, the response for Island Living has been fairly positive, so it's just natural for the developers to sit on it for as long as it can be monetized. Sims 4 will probably have more expansions in the near future for a Sims 5 will materialize.
For years, The Sims series have been patronized by fans across the globe. Every sequel is well received, so when EA excluded from its list of 2019 games, many were gravely disappointed.
But there is still a lot of expectation. In fact, fans have been writing what they want to happen in Sims 5 online. For example, they want better construction and transport options, along with a penstock. Users who play the game in mods have been using drivable cars in the game for a while now, and their increasing popularity has led to the rise of the demand for drivable cars in the real version as well.
So yes, for now, The Sims 5 has not been confirmed, and we won't probably see it soon. But EA is full of surprises, so let's just keep things positive.
