Recently a Tesla owner shared a potentially serious problem with its Dog mode. And it seems that the company listens to its customers' complaints. Tesla immediately releases the 2019.28.2 software update that will resolve this problem and is now sent to all Tesla vehicles.
Tesla vehicles have automatic climate control, which is great, especially for those who set it and forget about it. But, other owners still want to set the direction, fan speed, and direction manually. And, it seems that this is the part that Tesla had failed to consider when they designed the Dog mode.
Recently, Electrek reported a tweet from a Tesla owner that tags the official Twitter accounts of Elon Musk and the company. According to the owner, the Dog Mode only works in an automatic climate control setting. After setting the Dog mode of the Tesla vehicle, the owner noted that he left the car but returned to 85 degrees Fahrenheit internal cabin temperature of the vehicle, which only indicates that the dog mode did not work as intended.
Tesla's Elon Musk responded to the complaint within a couple of minutes saying that the company is currently working on a fix for the Dog mode to work when the manual climate control is activated. To activate this feature, simply choose the Keep Climate on after launching the climate control menu on the Tesla vehicle's touchscreen. After that, choose the Dog setting and set the temperature inside the vehicle.
The Tesla vehicle will maintain the set temperature in the cabin even if the owner is away from the vehicle. On the vehicle's touchscreen, the owner can find an image that indicated that the dogs are in a temperature-controlled environment and are safe even if left inside the Tesla vehicle.
This feature is an extension of the past protective measures to prevent the cabin from overheating. As for the fix, it did not take long to roll out. The Tesla owner, who shared his complaint on Twitter shared an update on the site showing the patch notes of the latest Tesla update. This was sent to all Tesla owners through OTA or over the air mode that will resolve the issue to make sure that Tesla owners could leave their pets inside the vehicle while they are away without having to worry about their condition.
Although Elon Musk is always active on various social networking outfits, using Twitter to air your complaints about your Tesla vehicle is not the right and expected way to submit your complaint. Tesla owners who discovered issues on their Tesla vehicles can say bug report the voice recognition system of the Tesla vehicle along with a brief description of the problem. The Tesla vehicle will take a screenshot of the infotainment system every time the bug report is requested and will submit the voice message and the picture to Tesla.
