Arsenal are about to refresh their offer to sign Daniele Rugani after seeing their initial move for the defender was rejected by Juventus. The club is desperate to improve their defense before the transfer window closes on Thursday and get a center-back.
Rugani is a top priority for the club, and they have recently upped their game in order to win the favor of Juventus to sign the 25-year-old. That approach saw the Gunners ambitiously ask the Italians whether they could bring the defender to north London on a two-year loan, with an option to make the move a permanent one.
Juventus initially rejected the deal, but Arsenal is bent to pursue Rugani. A new report has now claimed that the Premier League club has not lost their interest in signing the player.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, Arsenal will still continue to pursue talks with Fabio Paratici, sporting director for Juventus. Meetings will be held in London over a potential move for the defender, the report claims.
Paratici is reportedly in London to finish the deal off involving Joao Cancelo joining Manchester City in a swap agreement with Danilo. It is expected that the Gunners are looking forward to completing the deal before the window shuts down on Thursday and they are also adamant on signing Celtic's Kieran Tierney.
The Emirates club have had two bids rejected for the left-back, with Celtic holding out for around £25million for the 22-year-old who has spent his entire career with the Scottish giants. The most recent bid by the Arsenal has apparently met the valuation, but the Scots did not agree with how the bid was structured and will only allow their star to leave if cash is offered upfront.
Celtic is willing to part with Tierney, but an agreement over a transfer fee has to be made with Arsenal first.
Meanwhile, a report has claimed that RB Leipzig rejected Arsenal's offer of £55m to sign Dayot Upamecano over the weekend, although it is believed that the club is yet to submit an official bid for the 20-year-old central defender.
The club has completed the Nicolas Pepe deal from Lille last week for £72m, and now they want the France Under-21 international to join in. However, the Bundesliga side is understood to be reluctant to allow him to leave despite the fact he has only two years left on his contract.
The Gunners are pushing to bolster their defense before the transfer window closes on August 8.
