The future king's popularity is growing as time moves closer to his succession of the throne. Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall are now accepting applicants to work with them as a senior HR advisor.
The lucky advisor will work at St. James Palace on a fixed-term contract that covers a maternity leave. The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall wrote in a vacancy post that the role will have responsibility for a select portfolio of stakeholders and will be responsible for the full employee lifecycle, and provide an exceptional HR generalist service to the organization, including benefits, recruitment and HR reporting.
The post also said that applicants who demonstrably generalist or operational HR experience with an emphasis on employee relations and management coaching will be hired. They also indicated that qualities like passion for coaching and development, coupled with strong employee relations experience is also needed. They emphasized that the traits will enable you to contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization. The Household also included technical knowledge and experience of HR systems as requirements for the appointment.
The Duke also said that excellent communication and organizational skills are also required. They said that applicants needed to have the ability to interact with staff at all levels. They also prefer candidates that can do multiple tasks at a time.
The job also requires discretion and confidentiality. It is known to everyone that working in the palace is not an easy job. Employees are expected to follow formal gestures and strict etiquette in communicating with the family.
Grant Harrold, Prince Charles and Camilla's butler for four years, told Reader's Digest that said that employees shouldn't shake hands with a royal until they put their hand out first and they also shouldn't sit with them unless they are invited.
Simon Morgan, a royalty protection officer for seven years, said that the royals are very respectful of their employees despite strict protocols. He also said that they are different than what the media projects them to be. The officer told Reader's Digest that they are all very easy to speak to, and they are all very respectful of what your role is.
Prince Charles also posted that they need a gardener. He wrote that they are accepting applicants until August 30. Interested applicants for the HR advisor position can apply for the job in the family's official website. They need to submit the necessary papers for screening.
