Although most of the images taken behind the scenes feature Alex O'Loughlin, the actor appears to be sporting a new look while filming. Could this mean that Steve McGarrett is no longer a part of Five-0?
The Season 9 finale 'Hana Mao 'ole ka ua o Waianae' ('Endlessly Pours the Rain of Waianae') certainly concluded with a major cliffhanger as a woman entered the Five-0 office and immediately took out a gun. It appeared that she was aiming at Steve McGarrett, resulting in Danny 'Danno' Williams to cry out in shock. On the other hand, it's possible that she shot Jerry Ortega instead. Luckily, everything will be revealed in Hawaii Five-0 Season 10.
So what are the chances that Steve McGarrett got critically injured? There are speculations that he was indeed the one who got shot in the final episode. Although McGarrett might have been injured, there is little doubt that he survived the ordeal since Alex O'Loughlin has been confirmed to return in the tenth season. However, it could also mean that McGarrett would be sidelined for several episodes at first.
The Hawaii Five-0 Twitter account recently shared photos of a blessing ceremony as Season 10 began production. The images clearly show Alex O'Loughlin in attendance along with Beulah Koale and the adorable dog who plays McGarrett's pooch, Eddie. Interestingly, fans noticed that O'Loughlin is sporting a full beard in the pictures.
But is it possible that Alex O'Loughlin only forgot to shave for the blessing ceremony and immediately removed the beard once he started filming? It looks like the beard could be part of Steve McGarrett's new look. A more recent picture shared by Christine Lahti that also features O'Loughlin once again proves that the beard is here to stay, at least for the first few episodes of Hawaii Five-0 Season 10.
There are speculations that Steve McGarrett opted for retirement after being shot at the Five-0 office. However, there is also a huge chance that he won't be able to stay away from the team for too long. Hopefully, McGarrett will eventually shave his beard and get back into the action right away.
