Being turned down by big teams is not very ordinary; many athletes experience that all the time. But incidents, where a player or his agent or representative reject an offer from one of Europe's best, is very seldom. This particular case happened with the Chelsea player Christian Pulisic who could have been playing for Manchester United if not for this reason.

According to Chelsea winger Robin Walker, the reason why Christian Pulisic turned down Manchester United's offer is because of Joe Mourinho. According to the Ex-Chelsea, Fulham, and Brighton player, Joe Mourinho's record of developing young players was a massive turn off for Christian Pulisic's father who is not fond of the Portuguese strategist. Walker's statement just concreted the buzz that Pulisic was not interested in moving to the Old Trafford because of Mourinho's inability to provide opportunities to young players.

Christian Pulisic of Chelsea comes close to signing a deal and playing for the red devils only to turn it down in the end. Walker added that Pulisic was the subject of interest of the Manchester United at some point, but his father stepped in and turned down the deal upon knowing that Jose Mourinho is still in charge. Pulisic secured a £57.6million when he moves from Borussia Dortmund this summer to Stamford Bridge and agreed to Frank Lampard's club last January.

Christian Pulisic was hoping that he can fill the shoes left by Eden Hazard who left Chelsea for Real Madrid. Even at his status, Christian Pulisic is still close with his former non-League Brackley Town coach Robin Walker whom he invited to Germany before he finalized his move to Chelsea. In his interview with the Telegraph, Walker shared that he is a Chelsea fan and grew up supporting the team.

He added that he told Christian Pulisic to come when he was in Dortmund last year and revealed that the football player would not go to Manchester United because of Jose Mourinho. He also disclosed that he asked Pulisic he also tried selling the city to the player for possible options. Walker also shared that Pulisic's agent told the football player that whenever he makes a decision, he should think that it is all about investment and property.

Christian Pulisic inked a deal with Chelsea in January 2018 and spent the remaining campaign on loan at Borussia Dortmund. He debuted for the team at the pre-season friendly and made his first unofficial foals for the team when they played against RB Salzburg.
