Liverpool inked a deal with the Brazilian professional footballer Fabinho in the summer of 2018. It was also during that time when Arsenal and Chelsea brought in Lucas Torreira and Jorginho respectively. Recently, Liverpool shares why it chose to sign Fabinho instead of the other two footballers.

According to reports, Liverpool chose Fabinho instead of Torreira and Jorginho because of his physical prowess. The Brazilian footballer starred along with Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum and snatched a 3-1 victory against the Gunners last Saturday. According to The Athletic, Liverpool preferred Fabinho over Jorginho and Torreira because of his physicality.

The Reds, according to the report, has been targeting Fabinho since 2013. However, during that time, he spent most of his time at the right-back. After almost five years, Liverpool made a move and inked a deal with Fabinho.

Initially, the Brazilian footballer struggled in adjusting his life in England. He has been used to the slow-paced football with Monaco in Ligue 1. But, apparently, Fabinho has gained his ground and has become one of the first few names on the team sheet of Klopp.

Before Fabinho completed the £39 million contract to Anfield in summer 2018, he spent three fruitful years at Monaco where he helped the team bag the Ligue 1 title. The Brazilian midfielder really took his time to learn and adapt to Premier League football. And, as the season pushes on, he shows improvements.

He helped Liverpool win many matches including winning second place in the Premier League and a win in the Champions League. This season, Fabinho showed impressive improvements in his performance at the team. In three out of four games, he was a part of the starting lineup and played a crucial role in helping Liverpool rise to the top of the rankings.

Meanwhile, Jorginho is starting to kick on for Chelsea while Torreira stays in and out of the Arsenal side. Liverpool appears to be happy and satisfied with Fabinho on its team. After the team's most recent win, Klopp was all praises to the Brazilian midfielder and also to Roberto Firmino. According to Klopp, the effort of the entire team was exceptional, especially in terms of tactical discipline.

Klopp also noted that Roberto Faminho was unbelievable and he was pleased with his performance. He also shared that he never saw a bad player or a player that performed below his level at the most recent match. Klopp admired Fabinho's performance calling the footballer, sensational.
