A new chapter in the Neymar saga has developed in Paris. New reports from France recently come to light online claiming that PSG treats the loan plus purchase option proposal tendered by Barcelona for Neymar to be utterly unacceptable. The news came a few hours after speculations surfaced that PSG was allegedly open to the concept of a loan deal with Barcelona for Neymar, which could include an option to purchase.

Earlier rumors suggesting PSG favoring Barcelona's proposal for the Brazilian football star were quashed by Le Parisien. Based on the recent report by the French daily, PSG considers the proposal of Barcelona to be completely unacceptable not only based on financial concerns but also on the merits of respect.

It is worth noting that the Parisian team purchased Neymar in 2017 for 222 million euros. The Brazilian football star deal is considered the most expensive contract signing in history. Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the team president, finds it difficult to understand why he should let the player leave the team on a loan deal with barely a couple of years after he made that massive investment.

Last July, Barcelona proposed PSG 40 million euros and Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic for Neymar. Philippe Coutinho is now with Bayern Munich. The Parisian team's owners found the offer insufficient while several reports claim that sporting director Leonardo did not want the midfielder from Croatia.

Since then, Barcelona has been exploring the possibility of a loan transfer, which is something that Nasser Al-Khelaifi finds very unrealistic. Following the breakdown of Neymar's relationship with PSG, the exit door is actually wide open; however, the team is not willing to let him go at any amount or price.

Aside from that, the outfit of Parc de Princes is currently under the scrutiny of inspectors from UEFA Financial Fair Play. They will require a massive amount of money to be able to finance for Neymar's replacement, which makes the proposal of Barcelona possibly unfeasible. Additionally, the Parisian management appears to believe that Barcelona will not be able to cover for the transfer fee in one sitting next summer if ever they make the transfer permanent.

There is a great chance that they would ask to pay in annual investments which are of course not ideal for the French team, several sources claim. Meanwhile, ESPN reported that PSG sporting director Leonardo wants to recover at least 200 million euros from the Neymar sale and is only interested in permanent offers for the Brazilian football star. Neymar has been very vocal about his desire to leave the French team this summer.

One of his preferences is to go back to Barcelona, where he played from 2013 to 2017. Neymar is also training on his own and away from the entire PSG team. It was earlier made clear by Leonardo that the 27-year-old winger will no longer be involved with the team until his recent transfer situation is resolved.
