Too much pressure and confidence were probably on Paul Pogba's shoulder when he took Manchester United's penalty kick from Marcus Rashford. It appears that Rashford have no qualms when Pogba asked him to take the penalty he won against the Wolves. But, when the game was tied at 1-1, Pogba drove through the core of Wolves' defense and won a penalty when Conor Coady tripped him.

Immediately, referee Jonathan Moss pointed to the spot and Old Trafford fans were anticipating that Marcus Rashford would take the penalty kick. The United star scored from the spot in the Red Devils' win over Chelsea at 4-0. However, after a brief talk, Rashford stepped aside and fans saw Pogba taking the penalty kick.

In several replays, Marcus Rashford was shown asking Paul Pogba if he would like to take the penalty kick and it appears that he was getting a yes answer. After that, United's forward is seen patting Paul Pogba at the back, walking over to get the ball with Daniel James talking to him prior to throwing the ball to Pogba.

Paul Pogba stepped up and let go a powerful shot but Rui Patricio was there to save and beat away the effort of the Red Devils' star and managed to keep the game locked at 1-1. So far, no players have missed more penalties than Paul Pogba who at that time held his hands on his head upon seeing Rui Patricio making the save. The missed cost the United much since the Wolves held out a draw and the Old Trafford passed up their chance to go to the top of the table of the Premier League.

Former United defender Gary Neville called Paul Pogba selfish but Marcus Rashford defended his teammate. Rashford scored from the spot last weekend against Chelsea but Pogba took the penalty even though he missed three last season. According to Rashford, Paul Pogba simply wanted to take the penalty kick and that is how simple it was.

Rashford added that he took one last week and he has no problem Pogba taking the kick from him. Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also shared that Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba are the team's penalty takers and it is up to them who takes the shot each time. They are the two designated penalty takers and where and who to take it entirely depends on them.
