Arsenal are offering Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a deal that includes generous bonuses in a bid to persuade him to sign a new contract with the club.

Since moving from Borussia Dortmund in 2018, the 30-year-old has been making waves in North London and seen huge success, earning him the Premier League Golden Boot in his first full season. Despite having been linked with huge European clubs as well as Chinese teams during the summer transfer window, Aubameyang was elected to stay at Arsenal instead. He has until 2021 with the club but the Gunners are hoping to extend his stay by offering a bonus should they make it in the top four.

However, Aubameyang's package won't be the same as top earner Mesut Ozil's wages, but it should include lucrative incentives in any potential deal. The striker earns a weekly pay of £200,000 at the Emirates, but Ozil tops all of them at £350,000 per week.

Unai Emery has revealed that the club has already discussed the matter with Aubameyang and reports claim that both sides are optimistic that they will eventually reach an agreement. It is unclear whether or not Aubameyang's contract will be extended under the new terms, but Arsenal hopes a big pay rise will further underline their faith in the 30-year-old.

Aubameyang has caught the eye of some clubs in Europe over the summer and Arsenal are well aware of that. However, the Gabonese made no attempt to move despite his club not qualifying for the Champions League this season.

It is believed that Emery has assured Aubameyang about his important role in the club. Pepe was signed at a club-record deal, but it shouldn't make his value any less. In fact, Pepe's transfer has made Arsenal even stronger.

Having missed out on Champions League qualification by a point and losing the Europa League final to Chelsea last season, Arsenal is targeting a top-four finish this term. At the end of the transfer window, the club signed both Luiz and Tierney, which gave them more leverage to achieve their goals for Aubameyang.

In the 67 games he played for the Gunners, Aubameyang has scored 43 times and has netted the winning goal in each of their opening two Premier League games of the season against Newcastle United and Burnley. He hit 33 on the opening day of the season in the 50 Premier League matches, propelling him to the joint-fifth most prolific goalscorer after a half-century of games in the competition's history.
