Arsenal FC will no longer make it a Deadline Day offer to ink a deal with the Brazilian Barcelona forward Philippe Coutinho. The player is once again being managed and offered around by his agent Kia Joorabchian. Barcelona Coach Ernesto Valverde recently claimed that the Brazilian international is going to stay at Camp Nou amidst strong interest from the Premier League.
Philippe Coutinho was recently the center of many speculations as he was strongly associated moving to Emirates Stadium. The rumors, however, were immediately played down and, according to his agent; the 27-years-old forward player is still looking for a team this summer. Arsenal FC earlier considered a move for Coutinho ahead of the upcoming Premier League season, but Fabrizio Romano confirms today that the previous Liverpool talisman is not anymore a transfer target of the Emirates Stadium during Deadline Day.
The latest status of Philippe Coutinho was revealed after the game in Hard Rock Stadium in Miami where the Croatian Ivan Rakitic scored a 79th-minute goal to give Napoli a 2-1 status. Neymar, former Barca forward, who is currently at Paris St. Germain was also touted to make a sensational comeback to the La Liga champions. However, recently, it was suggested that arch-rivals Real Madrid are also considering a move.
Ernesto Valverde stressed that the plan was to count on Philippe Coutinho. He added that the transfer window is open, but the team expects him to stay. The Barcelona coach also noted that when it comes to Neymar, he said that he has no idea what is going to happen. He also noted that the last time he was at the stadium he has to answer a myriad of questions about the player and a couple of years later he is doing it again like it is following him.
Several reports claim that Philippe Coutinho is still being offered, but it is now Joorabchian talking with teams like Tottenham and Manchester United in an attempt to find him a new team. According to talkSPORT, the only team that Philippe Coutinho is interested in moving should he leave Barca is Liverpool. But, Arsenal's north London rivals are rather interested in closing the deal to ink Giovani Lo Celso, the mid-fielder of Real Betis. Currently, the Argentina international is undergoing a medical ahead of his move this summer.
Meanwhile, Manchester United had seemed hopeful that Giovani Lo Celso moving to Tottenham Hotspurs would enable them to close a deal with Christian Eriksen who has only a year left on his contract. But it is noted that the team has completely turnover that decision with everyone preparing for the imminent move of Romelu Lukaku to finally be with Conte at Series A giants Inter.
