Apple has finally launched a new repair program for iPhones. This latest iPhone service program enables users to have their broken Apple phones get fixed more easily and conveniently. The latest scheme is called the Independent Repair program and empowers companies of all sizes to conduct repairs and gain access to the same set of parts, tools, and software that are used by Apple service team to fix iPhones at the Apple Store.
After three decades, Apple finally launches a scheme for Apple Authorized Service Providers. Apple has more or less 5000 businesses located in different countries all over the world. Before to be a part of the company's AASP is complicated and expensive, but with the new program, more people are given a chance to sign up including shops that currently provide repairs for out of warranty iPhones.
Shops that sign up to Apple's latest Independent Repair program will receive the same training, repair manuals, tools, and diagnostic kits as those already included in Apple's AASP list. They also have the option to use third-party parts if they want. The latest repair program will be available in the US and has already been tried in 20 trials in the country and other countries around the world.
Apple aims to make it more convenient and easier for its customers to have theirs out of warranty Apple iPhones repaired by authorized and verified technicians so they could prolong the life of their iPhones. Aspiring businesses targeting to join the Apple Independent Repair program will not be required to pay anything. As an added perk, the parts and tools will be offered at exactly the same cost as AASPs.
Potential businesses aiming to be a part of this new program will be required to undergo the 40-hour Apple training program, which is free. Upon completion, they will be given a certification. New repair centers will be required to return the parts fixed to the company. Apple, in turn, will try to recycle these parts and if it is already beyond repair, it will be sent to undergo a thorough process that will enable the company to take out re-usable materials from these parts.
In a pivot, @Apple is launching a new product-repair program in the US in which independent businesses with an Apple-certified technician on staff can repair its products using the same parts & tools as Apple's 5,000+ authorized service providers worldwide.https://t.co/X6Tsm9m2zm — 6Pages (@6PagesInc) August 29, 2019
Although Apple launches the Independent Repair program, the AASP program will still continue, and the company expects that those already in the AASP list will stay. Old service centers that are part of the AASP will still have access and are entitled to extra benefits.
