Pick-up trucks are the best-selling vehicles in the US. The top 3 favorite vehicles with highest sales in the US include Ford F-Series, Dodge Ram, and the Chevrolet Silverado. Tesla knows the statistics, and it could be one of the reasons why it wants to launch its very own tesla Cyberpunk Pick-Up truck. However, a new report claims that the much-talked-about truck from the electric vehicle pioneer might get beaten in the market in terms of release by Ford All-Electric F150 pick-up truck.
Ford has earlier confirmed that it is going to release Ford All-Electric F150 pick-up truck, the electric version of its bestselling pick-up, before 2022. Initially, the company revealed that it aims to bring 16-battery-electric vehicles to market beginning with the all-electric CUV with 300-miles range. The Ford All-Electric F150 pick-up truck was only supposed to get a hybrid powertrain in 2020, but it appears that plans have massively changed.
Earlier this summer, Ford unveiled prototypes of its Ford All-Electric F150 pick-up truck. It is pulling more than 1 million pounds of train carts. Meanwhile, Elon Musk confirmed in 2017 that Tesla plans to introduce an electric pick-up truck which in later interviews he gave a moniker of Tesla Cyberpunk Truck. The Tesla CEO shared that the truck will come after the Tesla Model Y.
Elon Musk also revealed that he had the engineering elements and the core design of the Tesla Cyberpunk Truck in his mind for five years and he is dying to build it. Considering that the Ford F-150 pick-up is the top truck in the industry, Musk seemed to position the Tesla Cyberpunk truck against it. In one interview, he said that the upcoming truck would be bigger than the Ford F-150.
The Tesla CEO also noted that the Tesla Cyberpunk Truck would be a better truck than the Ford F-150 and better sports car than the Porsche 911. The truck, according to Musk, will have a suspension that dynamically adjusts for load and dual-motor all-wheel drive. So far, the tesla Cyberpunk truck is not yet in the development phase since the company is still knee-deep developing the Model Y.
Ford, on the other hand, already confirmed that the Ford All-Electric F150 pick-up truck would arrive before 2022. Ford's Team Edison head Darren Palmer recently confirmed in a recent interview that the electric version of the f150 will be among the all-electric series that the automaker plans to launch before 2022. Musk, on the other hand, said that the unveiling of the Tesla Cyberpunk truck might happen in October.
