Ellen DeGeneres shared a first-hand detail of what it's like to meet and play with baby Archie Harrison, the first-born son of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle. The daytime talk show host spent part of her summer vacation visiting Europe with her wife Portia de Rossi, and this trip included to a visit at the Sussex royals' place in Frogmore Cottage.
In her talk show's season premiere on Monday, DeGeneres revealed that she had the chance to hold the baby and even feed him. She also shared that Archie looks a lot like his father Prince Harry and he had more hair than DeGeneres had as a baby.
"Do you want to see a picture of him?" the host asked her audience in jest. "I don't have one, I didn't think it was right to, but I did draw a picture of him, and he looks like Harry," DeGeneres said, and a drawing of baby Archie flashed on the screen.
Earlier, an insider told People last August that Archie has his father's "tufts of reddish hair." The baby has also been described as an adorable and happy child, but both his parents are still trying to figure out who he looks like the most.
DeGeneres went on to say that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are the sweetest and most down-to-earth couple. This prompted the host, once again, to talk in defense of the Sussex royals amid the criticism they have been subjected to in the British press.
"I see them get attacked, and it's just not fair. They're just two of the most down-to-earth, compassionate people," the comedienne said.
It was not the first time that DeGeneres spoke up to defend the couple. In August, she also posted a tweet after Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were criticized for using a private jet on their trips to Nice and Ibiza.
DeGeneres also shared that her visit to the Sussex royals' house was also a because they shared a common cause to conserve wildlife. Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have a foundation to help the elephants in Botswana while DeGeneres and her wife are saving gorillas in Rwanda.
Meanwhile, the public is soon likely going to see how baby Archie has grown since his last public outing in July. He's set to join his parents for a 10-day trip to South Africa by the end of September.
