While "GTA 6" maintains a steady stream of leaks, rumors, and speculations, it appears that fans will have to wait a little longer for Rockstar games to announce the much-awaited sixth iteration of the Grand Theft Auto series. Based on the industry experts' predictions, the highly anticipated game will launch on the next generation gaming consoles with Google Stadia and PC down the line. Aside from this, it seems that the game announcement and release will have to wait much longer than expected since Rockstar Games is allegedly knee-deep in preparing for the "Red Dead Redemption 2" PC release.
Several sites over the past few weeks have been reporting leaks and rumors suggesting that Rockstar Games is close to announcing the Red Dead redemption 2" PC release. A data miner recently shared on GTA Forums game files showing the PC settings of the sequel to the popular cowboy-themed game. Discoveries include new options mined on the game files pointing to a version of "Red Dead Redemption 2" appearing on Epic Games Store and n Steam.
Aside from this, other Rockstar Games trackers like TezFunz has allegedly uncovered new details about "Red Dead Redemption 2" PC release. On Twitter, the account revealed that a recent Rockstar Games project failed to get a classification in Australia. The project was codenamed "Bonaire," which, according to TezFunz is actually PC version of "Red Dead Redemption 2."
The revelation could be a major blow, especially to fans who are hoping that the project was a surprise "GTA 6" project. The Rockstar Games tracker also shared that he has no idea why "Bonaire" was denied classification but assumes that it has something to do with the game being released on PC. TezFunz also revealed that the same classification board has some issues with "GTA 5 Rockstar Edition" in 2015.
Moreover, TezFunz said that he would not be surprised if the game developer is having issues with "RDR2 Rockstar Edition," which will be released with the PC version. All of these suggests "Red Dead Redemption 2" PC release being the next major project for Rockstar Games. Rumors have it that the announcement of the game's PC release might happen in the coming months while the official release might happen in 2020.
Rockstar mysterious title called "Bonaire" is the code name for RDR2 PC.
As to why it was refused classification is unknown, but I would assume it's because of something new within the PC version as the Australian government seems to be okay with the console versions.#RDR2 pic.twitter.com/CUB13ipVei — Tez2 (@TezFunz2) August 30, 2019
And, it is not usual for Rockstar Games to announce two major projects altogether, which suggests that "GTA 6" is still further down the road. Many believe that expectant "GTA 6" might hear more about the game next year with the potential release in 2021. However, until Rockstar Games announces otherwise, fans will have to watch out for the latest news about "GTA 6."
