Apple's event might not be as exciting as it has always been the past, but it manages to pull through with the video is designed for its latest iPhone announcement. According to new reports, Apple managed to fire shots at one of its staunch rivals with a secret message hidden in the video - Microsoft.
The hidden message was discovered in an edit of Apple's launch of its new phone, watch, and tablet offerings. The company released a YouTube video following its September 10 event, which highlighted the key features of the new iPad and many more details, Trusted Reviews reported.
The video condensed two-hours long of announcements into just two minutes. That is a mean feat enough. But the hidden message, popularly known as the Easter egg among techies, is even more astounding.
The message also appeared less than a few seconds in the video, so the one who saw it should really be lauded. It could have been very easy to miss. The message is contained in a frame that immediately follows the narrator stating, "two-times faster than the best-selling PC."
The frame where the message appeared in resembled the "Blue Screen of Death" that can be found on a Windows computer system when it crashes or suffers from a fatal system error. This, of course, meant that Apple planned the hidden message to be some sort of a dig at Microsoft.
"Error 09102019," the text written on the frame reads. The numbers are aligned with the date of Apple's Keynote launch event. "This is just a thought. But it might be nice to have some sort of easter egg message in here for the hardcore Apple fans that will stop the video," it further read.
After this is the binary code that will look like gibberish to most :"Below the text is binary code which reads: "01010011 01101111 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 00100000 01110100 01101111 01101111 01101011 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01110100 01101001 01101101 01100101 00100000 01110100 01101111 00100000 01110100 01110010 01100001 01101110 01110011 01101100 01100001 01110100 01100101 00100000 01110100 01101000 01101001 01110011 00111111 00100000 01010111 01100101 00100000 01101100 01101111 01110110 01100101 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 00101110." Of course, hard-core Apple fans who have the sleuth and programming skills were able to decode the message. They translated the binary code into the said secret message, which is kind of cute and heartwarming.
"So you took the time to translate this? We love you," it translated.
Microsoft in the past also released a 30-second video to troll Apple. A guy, named "Mac Book" short for Mackenzie Book was asked to compare the pros and cons of MacBook Air and Surface Laptop 2. In the end, he said this: "You should get a Surface. Trust me, I'm Mac Book."
