The popularity of BTS is growing every minute. Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are unstoppable, making them highly in demand all over the world.
Millions of their fans want nothing but to support the boys and would do anything to help them in their career, just as how BTS help them through their songs. With that said, when ARMYs see anything that has Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook’s face on it, they automatically buy the items. This is the reason why Big Hit Entertainment decided to make an announcement.
The talent agency took to Twitter to post a lengthy notice regarding the “Unauthorized use of artist imagery and trademarks in publications.” The label started the note with the revelation that “there has been a recent rise in the number of publications that make use of BTS imagery, trademarks, and other materials.”
The label pointed out that books and other publications that were released by their channels and company are the only official ones. Big Hit Entertainment shared that there were a lot of publications out there claiming that they are authorized by the company.
Big Hit, then, warned the fans of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook to be more careful and not fall victim to these claims. “We would like to advise caution to our fans and any related parties… Please exercise caution in ensuring that you are not harmed by any attempts to commercialize these books and other publications,” the company wrote.
Selling anything BTS such as shirts, accessories, books, and a lot more will surely be a big hit to fans, making it a lucrative business. However, some take it a step further by claiming that they are officially authorized by Big Hit Entertainment, tricking fans that they are the real deal.
One fan commented on how upset they are with the news. “It's an epidemic with webshops like amazon etc. Nothing there is legit at all from... all garbage from China just stealing money from our favs and then delivering an inferior product that damages the group's reputation on top of it all... whole thing makes me upset after buying merch for years,” the netizen wrote.
Meanwhile, with Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook already fitting the age bracket of enlisting in the military, a previous report claimed that a special animated edition of BTS WORLD is, reportedly, in the works to fill in the void. Big Hit Entertainment and BTS have yet to comment regarding this matter.
