It appears that Rockstar Games is not planning to release any single-player content for ''Red Dead Redemption 2'' just yet. The game developer did the same thing to its popular game "Grand Theft Auto 5" before and it seems that it is doing it again to its cowboy-themed game. Instead of releasing a DLC for ''Red Dead Redemption 2'' the game developer is planning to expand the multiplayer mode of ''Red Dead Online."

In an interview conducted by VG24/7 with Rockstar Games developers, one of them confirmed that ''Red Dead Redemption 2'' will not receive any single-player expansions. Lead Online Production Associate Katie Pica told the site that the team is currently focused on multiplayer. She added that there is so much to do with "Red Dead Online" at the moment. She also shared that Rockstar Games is hoping that it could bring everything that players love about the single-player content online.

Recently, Rockstar Games released a massive content for ''Red Dead Redemption 2'' titled Frontier Update. It rolled out the first of the Roles that players can use in "Red Dead Online." This includes Bounty Hunter, Collector, and Trader. In another interview by the same site, Rockstar Games developer Tarek Hamad shared that the team currently working on "Red Dead Online" wants the game to match the world of the single-player campaign.

This could be done, according to the developer, by seeding new events, characters, and activities into the game. Over the years, Rockstar Games has earned its players through its interesting story modes. And, the team behind the successful titles also shares the same sentiment.

Hamad added that the ambition of the team for ''Red Dead Redemption 2'' is extremely high in every aspect. The developer further revealed that every time they build worlds in that scale, they are inspired by the single-player experience. The same explanation was shared by Rockstar Games design director Imran Sarwar a few years ago when he was asked about the single-player content of "GTA 5."

He said that the single-player was not necessary or possible at that time but will do them in their future projects. While this may sound disappointing to some fans, earlier Rockstar Games titles have received single-player DLCs. It is also possible that Rockstar Games is not yet willing to develop the single-player DLC of ''Red Dead Redemption 2'' because it is still preparing for the ''Red Dead Redemption 2'' PC release.

With the impending ''Red Dead Redemption 2'' PC release, it is impractical to release a single-player DLC for consoles and later tweak it for the PC platform. It would make sense if the game developer will release the ''Red Dead Redemption 2'' PC version then release soon after the single-player DLC.
