Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly eyeing Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard to be a part of his Manchester United rebuild, joining Liverpool and Arsenal in the race.

According to reports, clubs reckon they can sign Odegaard for £25 million next summer with an offer of regular Premier League football if Los Blancos decide to cash in.

Odegaard was 15 years old when he joined Norway's senior squad. At 16, he left Stromsgodset to join Bernabeu but had just two senior outings.

United joins the list of clubs being linked with the Norwegian winger, who made an impressive start at Real Sociedad on a season-long loan. In 2015, the 20-year-old made his senior debut for Real Madrid. With the lack of opportunities under Zinedine Zidane's leadership, however, he found himself on loan at Sociedad.

In August, Odegaard scored his first goal in La Liga against Mallorca, and in September, he displayed a stunning performance that contributed to Sociedad's triumph over Atletico Madrid.

The Sun reports that Solskjaer could not help but notice Odegaard's performance and has grown keen on the youngster's progress. As a result, United will look into striking a deal for the midfielder. However, Madrid is still unwilling to let him leave on the cheap, as they believe he has a strong future at the club.

Elsewhere, it is being claimed that Manchester City is also plotting a move for Odegaard. Pep Guardiola is reportedly interested in signing the Norway national as a replacement for David Silva. At the end of this season, Silva will be leaving Etihad Stadium, and Guardiola is currently on the lookout for a long-term replacement for the club's captain.

Man Utd, currently tenth in the Premier League, is about to face a tough competition to sign Odegaard with Man City, Liverpool, and Arsenal all monitoring the winger's progress. As for the Gunners, the club is reportedly open to selling Mesut Ozil in January, the reason why they're looking for a replacement.

United's start to the 2019-20 season has been quite disappointing. The Red Devils will meet AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League Thursday night, and it is understood Solskjaer's side is bent on winning the match, albeit without Paul Pogba. The midfielder, currently suffering a foot injury, has been ruled out of the group clash.

A statement from Man Utd stated that Pogba would need time to rest and continuous therapy for his injured foot, which he sustained in the match against Southampton. On Sunday, the Red Devils will return to Premier League action against Newcastle.
