Is Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, the real father of the children of Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall? That's the speculation among royal fans discussing whether the heir to the British throne and his long-time love had children in their affair.
In a community forum on Quora, fans speculated that Camilla's two children -- Tom and Laura Parker Bowles -- are actually Prince Charles' biological children and not Camilla's ex-husband's, the navy officer Andrew Parker-Bowles. The speculations, however, are without grounds, and a fan noted that Tom and Laura closely resemble their real father's physical features. None of Camilla's children look like Prince Charles.
Camilla and Andrew were married for nearly two decades after dating on and off since 1965. At one point, while Prince Charles was romantically linked to Camilla, Andrew was also dating Princess Anne, Prince Charles' sister.
When Prince Charles had to travel with the Royal Navy, Camilla rekindled her romance with Andrew. Soon, the two were married, but Prince Charles still mingled in the same circle as the Parker-Bowles, despite his broken heart.
A year into their marriage, Camilla gave birth to her first child Tom, who became Prince Charles' godchild. Lauren was born four years later.
According to the Penny Juror, the author of "The Duchess: Camilla Parker Bowles and the Love Affair That Rocked the Crown," Camilla is close to both her children even as adults. The Duchess of Cornwall would also spend most of her weekends with the Parker Bowles side of the family, which Prince Charles understood. Juror also said that Prince Charles would sometimes quietly join these weekend gatherings.
Meanwhile, a man has claimed that he is the bastard child of Prince Charles and Camilla. Simon Dorante-Day, 52, revealed to the press that he was put up for adoption when his real parents had him as a teenager.
The man said that his adoptive grandmother worked for Queen Elizabeth. It was her who told Dorante-Day outright that he is Prince Charles and Camilla's child. He also believes he has a strong resemblance to his "biological" parents and would want a DNA test to prove his claims.
Dorante-Day also said that he was certain Princess Diana knew of his existence. He thought that it would be Prince Charles' first wife who would reveal his identity in public before her untimely death in 1997.
Clarence House, however, has denied Dorante-Day's claims.
